chaos;Head's story is set in the year of 2008 in Shibuya and is centered around Takumi Nishijō, a high school student at the private Suimei Academy, and some strange events that have occurred recently in the Shibuya area. Two events have occurred so far and is being referenced by the media and the public at large as being New Generation events. The first event named "Group Dive"occurred on September 7th with five high school students jumping to their deaths off of a high tower. The second event named "Pregnant Man" happened on September 19th wherein a male university student was found dead with a thirty-two week old fetus incised within his abdomen.

The story begins on september 28 with Takumi talking to an online friend named Grim, Grim is trying to bring Takumi up to speed about the recent New Generation events since Takumi is not interested local or international news. A person named Shōgun oins the chat room midway through Grim and Takumi's conversation but he does not respond despite being greeted by both Grim and Takumi. Grim sends Takumi a poorly drawn image of a person getting stabbed with several stakes. Grim claims that it is an image of the victim before leaving.

After Grim leaves the chat room, Shōgun finally starts to talk. He sends Takumi a barrage of several image links depicting a murder like Grim's image except that these images appeared to be real images. The next day, as Takumi was heading home after spending the afternoon at an Internet cafe, he comes across the same scene that he witnessed yesterday in Shōgun's pictures. He sees a male body nailed to the wall as well as a pink-haired girl dressed in Suimei Academy's uniform covered in blood. Takumi runs away screaming as soon as he comes to his senses over the situation at hand. The story progresses from here with Takumi trying to avoid getting involved with Shōgun and other New Generation events as he is slowly caught in a grander scheme's wheels of motion.

Toradora

Toradora!'s story begins with the male protagonist Ryūji Takasu who is frustrated at trying to look his best as he enters his second year of high school. Despite his gentle personality, his eyes make him look like an intimidating delinquent so he is utterly hopeless about his chances of getting a girlfriend anytime soon, and does not have many close friends either. After being greeted by his hungover mother in the morning, Ryūji goes to school and is happy to find that he gets to be in the same class as his best friend Yūsaku Kitamura and crush Minori Kushieda. However, it is then that he unexpectedly knocks into "the school's most dangerous animal of the highest risk level"—Taiga Aisaka—who just happens to also be in his class, and is a good friend of Minori.

Taiga has a negative attitude towards others and will not hesitate to snap at people. After meeting Ryūji, she takes an instant dislike of him. Taiga comes from a rich family, though she moved out to live on her own due to family issues, and by coincidence is now living in an apartment next door to Ryūji. After Ryūji discovers that Taiga has a crush on Yūsaku, and Taiga finds out about Ryūji's affections towards Minori, Ryūji suggests that they cooperate so they can win the object of their affections. Ryūji says he will do anything to get closer to Minori, which Taiga exploits, making Ryūji her personal servant, and getting him to do household chores like cooking and cleaning for her. Taiga spends a lot of her time over at his house, so much so that she could almost be considered a member of his family. Since Ryūji spends a lot of time with Taiga, he is opened up to her world and to a side of her that most people do not see. The two also attempt to help each other in order to improve how people view them. Unknown to them, however, people they know from school start to become curious about their strange relationship together and rumors begin to spread about them.

Tsukune Aono is a painfully average high school freshman who is unable to get into any private school, due to his disappointing test scores. The only school he is finally accepted into turns out to be a secret school for supernatural monsters (yōkai), who are in disguise as humans. The first student he meets is the beautiful Moka Akashiya, who becomes his friend for an unusual reason; she is a vampire, and is attracted to the sweet taste of his human blood. Tsukune quickly realizes his admission into a monster school must have been a mistake and fears for his life.Despite Moka's vampiric nature, she is a kind girl and Tsukune quickly falls for her. He decides to stay and be near her, despite the various dangers. He must hide his human identity from the faculty and other students, while trying to keep his grades up and avoiding conflicts with the various not-so-mythological monsters lurking around campus. Tsukune soon discovers that when he removes the "rosario" around Moka's neck, she transforms into a super-vampire, stronger and more powerful than almost any other creature at the school. However, in this state, she has an entirely different personality, often cold and merciless, so the rosario is only removed in dire emergencies. Tsukune is the only person who can physically remove it to transform Moka, and only in the case of an emergency (the rosario remains physically bound to Moka, while Tsukune attempts to willfully remove it in a moment immediately preceding, and sometimes interjecting - a malignant situation). Tsukune and Moka make new friends and enemies as their stay at Yōkai Academy progresses.
